Open Access Policy

The Journal of Sports History Studies (STAD) is an open-access journal that adopts the open-access policy of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). In this regard, scientific articles and research published in the journal are offered to end users and institutions free of charge. Users can read, download, copy, print, distribute, search, or link to the full texts of articles published in the Journal of Sports History Studies without the publisher's or author's permission.

Copyright: The copyright of the articles belongs to The Journal of Sports History Studies. Copyright also covers publishing in virtual media. Articles cannot be used for commercial purposes without permission. The author can make the published text available on academic and social platforms to increase the visibility of his work. Articles can be used following the CC-BY-NC open-access license.

Open Access is when publications are available to anyone online, free of charge and with few restrictions on reuse. The unrestricted dissemination of research is essential for authors, readers, and funders. Published articles in The Journal of Sports History Studies are published as Open Access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. STAD has made all articles accessible since its first issue (2024). It started to be published under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license as of 01.06.2024. STAD believes that for open Access to work effectively, user rights and copyright ownership must be evident through licensing.

The Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license permits the author and any other organization to reuse articles for non-commercial uses. However, permission must be obtained from The Journal of Sports History Studies for commercial use.
